HOW IT ALL STARTED
More than 20 years ago, The Ohio State Center for Mapping began developing the first generation of advanced mobile data collection vehicles for a NASA initiative. The founders of Digital Data Technologies Inc. were part of that initiative.

Realizing that accurate street addresses were the key to unlocking the enormous potential and power of all aspects of GIS, we built upon this early technology and developed what has become the most effective, reliable and accurate method for collecting highly detailed road centerline address data in the industry.

Since 1993, DDTi, based in Columbus, Ohio, has been providing top-notch spatial solutions to both the public and private sector. DDTi was the provider of choice for the pilot phase of Ohio’s statewide initiative to build a unified set of highly accurate map data able to meet the vastly different needs of state, county and municipal governments. Our unique approach was lauded as a Best Practice by the U.S. Department of Transportation in its 2011 Transportation for the Nation strategic plan. In addition, DDTi remains on the leading edge of the industry, participating in the National Emergency Number Association (NENA)’s Industry Collaboration Events, ICE 3, ICE 4, ICE 5 & ICE 8, and working with NENA to develop the standards and protocols for Next Generation 911.

CORPORATE WELLNESS
Enriching the lives of our employee family helps us maintain a motivated staff while promoting a healthy work-life balance. To that end, we have established a focus on employee health and wellness that has earned DDTi both a Gold Award and a Platinum Award from the American Heart Association, making us one of only 246 Platinum-designated Fit-Friendly Worksites across the country.

We promote healthy, active lifestyles by supporting employee participation in walking challenges, strength and flexibility activities, stretching classes, ergonomics, healthy eating and even an office “Olympics.” We provide discounted memberships to local fitness centers and CPR training for employees, and we support employees participating with Team DDTi in the annual Central Ohio Heart Walk and American Heart Association’s Newport (KY) HeartChase™.

Many of these initiatives, as well as voluntary biometrics screenings and health risk assessments along with strength/flexibility tests, have been made possible through a four-year Workplace Wellness Grants Program awarded to DDTi through the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation.

Clearly at DDTi, our employees well-being is our top priority.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
At DDTi, we also know that what we do outside the office is just as critical as what we do during work hours, and that giving back to the community is a privilege.

We’re proud to employ a team that actively volunteers at a variety of local non-profit organizations, including Habitat for Humanity. Staying true to our roots, we also support the
Keep Columbus Beautiful initiative, maintaining a half mile road segment near our office two times per year on a volunteer basis.
