HOW WILL MY MAP DATA BE USED IN NG9-1-1?
Traditionally in an E911 environment, the primary role of the GIS data is for locating and displaying the location of an emergency. In NG911, GIS data takes on the additional role of routing an emergency call to the correct PSAP. In order to consistently and accurately route calls to the right PSAP, accurate data is imperative.
HOW DO I PREPARE MY MAP DATA FOR NG9-1-1?
NENA has defined new standards for map data in order for it to function correctly in NG911. DDTi can check your GIS data to determine the level of accuracy your data has in order to be used in NG 911.
HOW WILL I MAINTAIN MY MAP DATA IN NG9-1-1?
The integrity of GIS data is critical for functioning in a NG 911 system and it’s important that quality control checks are implemented in any maintenance process. The i3 standards must be maintained and our DDTi DataFunctionNXG™ solution can do this.
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY GIS DATA ISN’T ACCURATE IN NG9-1-1?
In the NG911 environment, having accurate data is imperative. Among a list of other things that may occur, using inaccurate GIS data in a NG9-1-1 environment will result in the following:
• Calls may be routed to the incorrect PSAP
• Location Validation will fail resulting in discrepancy reports
• PSAP map displays will be incorrect
